The purpose of this panel was to provide solutions for a European future-fit economy that couples environmental tr ansition and social-being.\n\n\nFocus panel 1 - Which prosperous future? C onfronting narratives of growth\n15 May\, 09:00-10:30 CEST\nMaja Göpel\, Professor\, co-initiator of the “Scientists for Future” network and me mber of the Club of Rome\, will provide a reality-check of some of the maj or narratives of growth currently experienced and envisaged and offer pers pectives on new potential narratives\, helping to guide our societies towa rds a more prosperous future.\n\n\nPlenary 6 – The power of economic mod els on decision-making and society at large\n17 May\, 14:30-16:00 CEST\nRo bert Costanza\, Professor at the University College London and member of t he Club of Rome will participate in the discussion on the role of economic models in economic policy decisions and present alternative economic mode ls integrating the physical limits of economic growth.\n\n\nClosing plenar y- Pathways from here: roadmap for a Green and Social Deal\n17 May\, 16:30 -18:30 CEST\nTim Jackson\, Professor at the University of Surrey and membe r of the Club of Rome\, will provide concrete recommendations to shift the European economic model towards a new post-growth one\, with the aim of f lourishing instead of growth.\n\n\nEuropean Parliament study\n Ahead of th e Beyond Growth conference\, the European Parliament prepared a study to i ntroduce participants and other stakeholders to the beyond growth debate. Earth4All is prominently featured as an example of an economic policy fram ework to move beyond growth and fully integrate social and climate justice \, equality and planetary boundaries into the functioning of societies\, a long with doughnut economics.
