DESCRIPTION:The Club of Rome and Earth4All are pleased to be partners of th
 e 10th European Conference on Sustainable Cities &amp\; Towns taking plac
 e in Aalborg\, Denmark\, from 1-3 October 2024.\n\nAcross Europe\, cities 
 and towns of all sizes are developing Local Green Deals\, as a response to
  the European Green Deal. At the European Conference on Sustainable Cities
  &amp\; Towns – Aalborg2024 – we will take a closer look at the ongoin
 g trends\, challenges and opportunities that define these Local Green Deal
 s\, as well as ask how we can become powerful enablers of sustainable\, lo
 cal change.\nProgramme highlights\nBreaking the spiral of inaction\n1 Octo
 ber\, 9:00-10:00 CEST\n\nThe clock is ticking! How much time do we have le
 ft\, and why aren’t we moving faster? The window for action to address u
 rgent crises like climate change and biodiversity loss is closing. Are we 
 ready to break free from the spiral of inaction? Now is the time for bold 
 actions\, immediate investments and addressing fears of overburdening amon
 g certain societal groups and individuals.\n\nJoin this plenary session wi
 th speaker Sandrine Dixson-Declève\, co-author of Earth for All: A Surviv
 al Guide for Humanity and Co-President of The Club of Rome to outline the
  state of play and explore how to unlock and empower local governance in t
 he democratic transformation towards a climate-neutral\, sustainable\, equ
 itable\, and resilient Europe.\nLocal\, regional and national governments 
 together for climate neutral cities\n2 October\, 11:00-12:30 CEST \n\nLoca
 l governments are at the forefront of the fight against climate change\, b
 ut there is only so much they can do on their own. Without joint action wi
 th national and regional governments\, cities will struggle to accelerate 
 their climate action. There is an increasing momentum for stronger multi-l
 evel collaboration at the UN level through initiatives like the Coalition 
 for High Ambition on Multilevel Partnerships\, and the EU level through va
