SUMMARY:High-level roundtable on equity and planetary stability
DESCRIPTION:The Club of Rome is participating in the high-level roundtable 
 at the UN Summit of the Future 2024: No human equity and wellbeing on an u
 nstable planet\, no stable planet without human equity.\n\nConvened by Ear
 th4All\, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research\, Planetary Guardia
 ns\, Future Earth\, the Earth Commission\, the Earth League\, and the Inte
 rnational Science Council\, this event will address the essential linkages
  between planetary stability\, inequality\, justice\, and human wellbeing.
 \n\nTogether with representatives of national governments and multilateral
  institutions\, the participants will explore key questions:\n\nHow does h
 umanity’s future on Earth depend on our ability to maintain a stable\, r
 esilient planet?\nHow is the fight against poverty and inequality our best
  chance for improving planetary stability?\nHow can we elevate greater amb
 ition for transformative change to manage these interconnected risks?\nIn 
 the context of the UN Summit of the Future\, the roundtable aims to explor
 e how best to elevate a new narrative on the imperative of simultaneous am
 bitious action on poverty\, equality and planetary stability within key mu
 ltilateral processes.\n\nThe roundtable will engage prominent thought lead
 ers\, sustainability and equality advocates and scientists including Sir R
 ichard Branson\, founder of Virgin Group\, Xiye Bastida\, founder Re-Earth
  Initiative and Planetary Guardian\, Jayati Ghosh\, member of The Club of 
 Rome\, Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst a
 nd member of the Earth4All Transformational Economics Commission\, and Pet
 er Gluckman\, President of the International Science Council.
