World Conference on Science and Art for Sustainability

The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD) from 2024 to 2033. This initiative, proposed by Serbia and supported by Argentina, Cuba, Honduras, Hungary, South Africa, Spain, and Vietnam, aims to trace pathways to sustainability for nature and society as well as ensure human security. The IDSSD was launched by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS), and The Club of Rome.

The World Conference on Science and Art for Sustainability will be held from September 22–25, 2025, in Belgrade, Serbia. This conference is the first major event within the EHC-WAAS Program of Sciences for Sustainable Development. It will feature 37 talks spanning various sciences and arts, a virtual archaeological exhibition, three visual art exhibitions, and four music, one dancing, and one conceptual art happening. The conference aims to foster interactions among leading individuals from diverse disciplines and regions, culminating in actionable conclusions on sustainable and secure development for policymakers and stakeholders.

Seven members of The Club of Rome will be participating in this event: Paul Shrivastava, Robert Costanza, Garry Jacobs, Carlos Álvarez Pereira, Ugo Bardi, Nebojša Nešković and Aleksander Zidanšek.

Additionally, four members from the Serbian Association for the Club of Rome will be contributing: Miomir Korać, Dragan Đuričin, Dragan Simeunović and Vera Milanković.
