Al-Saud, Abeer S. Bin Farhan

HH Princess Abeer S. bin Farhan Al-Saud is a dedicated moral neo-explorer, multilateral professional, peacebuilding and international development expert, researcher and artist, whose work bridges environmental conservation, scientific exploration, peacebuilding, development, sustainability, cultural heritage preservation, research and evidence-based policy and advocacy.

Al-Saud has over a decade’s experience working in multilateralism, peacebuilding and international development. She is the chair and founder of the first sustainability non-profit organisation in Saudi Arabia, The Sustainable Development Association (Talga) that aims at localising and culturalising the SDGs to Saudi vision 2030.

As the founder of Dinar Group, a responsible impact enterprise with multiple impact focused subsidiaries, Al-Saud drives cross-sector projects that significantly contribute to socioeconomic development in the MENA region and the Arabian Peninsula. Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to harmonising environmental and cultural heritage preservation with scientific advancement to ensure a sustainable future.

With a BS in Neuroaesthetics and an MA in Development Studies, Al-Saud’s exploration journey began with scientific expeditions in the Nile Basin and Southeast Asia. Catalysed by her experiences while traveling through the Mekong Delta, she launched the “Sublime Arabia” project in 2014, documenting the diverse landscapes and cultures of the Arabian Peninsula.

Al-Saud has worked with multilateral organisations such as the GCC Secretariat, UN agencies and the EU. In 2019 she was seconded from the GCC to spearhead the first peacebuilding unit in the region. She successfully organised capacity-building workshops with a focus on female participation, activating UN Resolution 1325 and UN Resolution 2250 over a period of 14 months during her secondment. She introduced policies endorsed at the regional level, including adherence to international development benchmarks and the UN’s call to action to end human trafficking.

Her extensive experience with organisations such as USAID, State Department, UNESCO, ICCROM, ICOMOS, DFID, JICA, SIDA, GiZ, IsDB, OECD and the World Bank underscores her expertise in multilateral policy and advocacy.

Al-Saud’s creative work is deeply influenced by her “Cosmic Desert” adventures across the Arabian Peninsula, where she uses natural materials and experiments with infrared analogue films.

Her artistic journey is intertwined with her exploration goals, such as her upcoming 2025 “Incense Peace Cycle” expedition, a 200-mile expedition where she will cycle the entire ancient Incense Road, during which she aims to capture 2,000 smiles.

Recently, Al-Saud made history as the first Arab woman to complete a long research expedition to Antarctica.

Under Dinar, Al-Saud founded multiple niche and dynamic subsidiaries, each a for-profit impactful responsible enterprise. These include Timenschen Institute, Qantara Collective, Filosofia, Wellness Lab and Réhal, all of which encourage exploration from the MENA region through cultural consulting, peacebuilding, space, exploration, philosophy design, content strategy, workshops, trainings and research.

Réhal is dedicated to raising awareness and conducting research on the lesser-explored regions of Arabia Felix and Arabia Petraea, aiming to inspire a new generation of explorers and deepen understanding of the area’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
