Communicating Change: Storytelling for climate communications and action

Communicating Change: Storytelling for climate communications and action
19 September 2025 13:00 - 14:00 (CEST)
Online

Communicating Change is a new workshop format for early career communications professionals to learn from and engage with each other, on practical solutions, insights and experiences while communicating across a range of complex topics, including but not limited to climate change, scientific research, conservation, reshaping economics, public health, policy, systems analysis and climate action.
In the first edition, we will have Patricia Akpo Uyeh and Giovanna Galvani sharing their experiences in a conversation on Storytelling for climate communications and action.

This is an engagement space to learn and grow as communications professionals in connected but unique roles. The presentations by Akpo Uyeh and Galvani will be followed by an open discussion where everyone is free to ask questions or share insights and practical wins from their own communications work. Hosted by the communications team at The Club of Rome, this is a space for mutual learning on communicating complexity.

About the speakers:
Patricia Akpo Uyeh is a Nigerian communications specialist, geo-journalist and blogger with extensive experience spanning media, NGOs, and public engagement. She crafts compelling narratives on climate, conservation, and equity, bridging voices from the Global South and North. Her work focuses on transforming stories into powerful catalysts for collective action and lasting systemic change.

Giovanna Galvani is a Brazilian journalist currently pursuing a MSc in Climate Change: Policy, Media and Society at Dublin City University as a GOI-IES Scholar. She’s now working with public and stakeholder engagement with a focus on climate communications and energy policy, and she also has experience with digital strategy for organisations and media outlets.

If you are an early career communications professional with an interest in these topics and a desire to learn from peers around the globe, please write to us to attend on 19 September: events@clubofrome.org
